Every once in a while we like to look back at some of our favorite savory homemade pizzas and share them. We love homemade pizza, it brings the family together like no other meal!

Every family member has their own favorite savory ingredients, and they all get piled onto one, two or even more pies that go into the oven or the BBQ. It’s a family affair!

These are some of our favorite versions, highlighting some huge umami flavors. Sweet Georgia Vidalia onions are caramelized in honey until they are finally off their Earthly chains. Then we add it to the awaiting cheeses… mozzarella, asiago and Parmesan Reggiano.

We place smoked sausages in all the cheesy parts plus a wild mushroom called Black Trumpet, which is similar to truffles in aroma and flavor. Then we sautéed baby spinach in tons of garlic and virgin olive oil until it is nearly exploding with flavor.

The cheeses are all piled on a tangy marinara sauce and a thin crispy crust… all leading to some big grins and a family pizza coma! Enjoy!
